The difference is so huge I just had to leave this review.
#Prodigy 2 plus#
That plus another $100 got me a a used Sunburst Prodigy II 14.5 with a pair of matching 230cm Carlisle Magic Plus paddles.

What a joke! Thankfully bought it for only $300. Front seat position locks into place with nylon thumb screws on smooth support shafts? SERIOUSLY? Front paddler can barely get into their seat. Rear paddler has to wrap their feet around the back of the front seat. The Loon 138 as a tandem is an afterthought at best, and a poor one at that. It was so cramped for us both I can't even describe it. First boat I bought was a used Old Town Loon 138t. A tandem was a must because I wanted something my wife and I could do as a couple. Daughter got a Scimitar recently and gave me the bug to finally get into the sport. I can only hope that Mark Millar will deliver on his promise and keep the story and its conclusion as good and compelling as the first issues have been.Love this tandem! So, fair disclosure, I'm a novice kayaker but not an idiot and very athletic. Opting for darker shades on the scary ones and blander, opaque pallets for the scenes in which Edison is featured, an amazing way of representing just how boring and regular the scenario is when one is able of doing just about anything, as is the protagonist.Įvolving the plot little by little and exhibiting Crane’s limitless knowledge and abilities, Millar succeeds in hiding the mystery as much as he does in promising a scary and outstanding threat/antagonist. Maiolo’s colors do a great job to aid the scenes’ tone. Albuquerque’s facial expressions are a highlight in this issue managing to show exactly how the characters feel without exaggerating any traits whatsoever. Even while portraying common settings there is a rich set of details in every panel. Despite this being the segment that most relies on the aforementioned shock value, it still comes as something that just feels like too much, maybe for the fact that, regardless of the introduction, the reader does not know much about the villains just yet.Īlbuquerque and Maiolo’s artwork is no less than sublime. Millar does a pretty decent job revealing just how evil the bad guys are by showing the antagonists participate in a human hunt game from the victim’s perspective.

The script makes good use of Crane’s deduction abilities as an exposition tool for Agent Strak’s background, although it does come as a distant and cold analysis from the protagonist, which makes it difficult for the reader to nurture a genuine concern for the Rachel’s character, at least for now. Millar’s writing, whilst still relying on shock value to hold the reader’s attention, is shown to be skillful and evolved in relation to his earlier hits (Wanted, Nemesis, etc.). The issue also presents the reader to the antagonist in a very Millar way. The second issue picks up pretty much where the first left off, while CIA Agent Rachel Straks presents Edison (and the reader) with how she learned about the case’s details in a flashback scene. The story follows, Edison Crane, the titular prodigy of the book, as he performs various amazing features while dealing with the most interesting case of his last years. Prodigy is Mark Millar’s take on his own Sherlock Holmes, do-whatever-he-wants-type character and flows like an easy read although supporting itself on the wrong features.
